The Community
Stroll through Glynn Village and you’ll know you are in a great place. We designed the community to look and feel different than any other neighborhood in greater Des Moines. From the fields of wildflowers to the extensive walking paths, you’ll be able to explore the best Mother Nature has to offer.
We thought long and hard about what sort of homes would complement such a tranquil setting. Certainly, the homes needed a strong traditional flavor. But we also wanted to create a sense of place and belonging. Our Tradition Collection of rear-loaded homes off of the University Avenue entrance create an instant sense of home – no views of driveways and garages from the main entrance, just beautiful homes full of character.
You can rest easy at night knowing that your home is taking a smaller toll on the environment. Every home and brownstone in Glynn Village is heated and cooled using renewable geothermal energy, saving you up to two-thirds off your energy bill and reducing our nation’s dependence on coal and foreign oil.
Between the beauty of your home and the excitement of the surrounding neighborhood, you may have moments when you can’t decide where you’d rather be. But you know you’ll be fulfilled whichever direction you take. And that’s the sure sign of a great place. Welcome home to a whole new way of life with a whole new way of living at Glynn Village.
History
Glynn Village is part of what was once the Broderick Farm, owned by Philip and Charlotte Broderick. To honor the family’s Irish heritage, we named the community after a town located in Northern Ireland. But we didn’t stop there, even the street names have an Irish flavor throughout the entire neighborhood.
